Poker stripped deck II

In poker games played with stripped deck, lesser number of available cards requires the hand values to be accordingly adjusted. So, when a Mexican stud poker game is being played and someone holds a hand of 6, 7, jack, queen and king cards, he is considered to be holding a straight hand since all 8, 8 and 10 cards are removed from this game and this progression of cards now form the new straight hand sequence.

Sometimes in games played with 32 cards anyone holding a hand of 10, 9, 8, 7 and ace cards can be said to have a straight hand with the value of ace taken as low and since 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 cards are stripped, now the ace card becomes the consecutive card to 7. However, such a situation where the ace is used in play by skipping the stripped ranks is not allowed in a Manila game.

Moreover with lesser cards available in a stripped deck, sometimes three of a kind hand becomes rarer than straight hands that are frequently formed making a three of a kind hand superior to a straight hand. However, this is not always a definite rule followed in all games played with stripped decks and only part of certain variants.

In some circumstances, 5-card stud poker is played like Manila with 32-card deck and all cards from 2 to 6 value are removed from the game. In some private games, however, only 2, 3 and 4 cards are stripped when seven or eight players are participating and more cards are required in the deck for dealing. If only two or three players are participating, the 7 and 8 cards may also be removed giving only a 24-card deck for playing. In such cases, a flush hand becomes superior to a full house hand or a rarely formed four of a kind hand. A note of caution in stripped deck 5-card stud poker game is that with so many cards removed, cheating by collusion is a possibility that needs to be supervised and prevented.
